Our Open Grade 5 Trip

To raft the grade 5 section, we need a certain number of guests to join us. Ideally this number is at least 8. However, what we like to do is open up a trip where guests do not need to worry about putting a larger party together themselves. We try to coordinate, or point smaller groups to these specific days and build a day from there. We call these trips Open Trips. This allows you to book onto a trip as a single person, with a partner or as a small group. We'll breakdown the info below:

Q: What is an Open Grade 5 Trip?

It is a trip that will be running on a certain date to help people experience the grade 5 section without the worry of organizing a group of 8 paddlers themselves.

Q: How much does it cost?

It is $175, the regular price for a grade 5 trip.

Q: Where can I get more information about the grade 5 trip?

You can visit our trips page for more information and photos. You can also download a pdf summary of the grade 5 run for your own records.

Q: Is it a guaranteed trip?

Unfortunately we can't guarantee a trip for two reasons: weather and paddle power. We'll go into detail below.

Weather: With rafting we are at the mercy of the natural elements. If the river is too high, or the weather too poor we do cancel trips.

Number of people: We do run these trips with less than ideal numbers... if we have a few groups we'll usually take you down. Unfortunately though, if there aren't enough paddlers, it can be too physically demanding and we might make another trip suggestion.

Q: How do I book?

For more information, or to book a trip, contact us by email or phone. This information can be found by clicking this link to our contact page.

For an Open trip in the near future please check the calendar below. As people with groups of 8 or more book into the grade 5, we will add that trip to the calander until it is full.
